Arete isn’t a destination; it’s a standard of movement. Most men don’t fail because they lack ability; they fail because they stop asking the right questions of themselves.
As you navigate your roles as a leader, a father, and a man, sit with this thought:
If a man who was slightly more disciplined than you took over your life tomorrow, what is the very first thing he would change?
We often look for massive overhauls, but excellence is usually found in the small action or improvement. It’s the extra hour of sleep, the difficult conversation you’ve deferred, or the physical training you’ve bargained away.
Then, the tricky part, we have to act on it.
Excellence isn’t a Monday to Friday pursuit or craft. As you head into the weekend, look for the opportunities to show up fully for your family, your community, and yourself.
Stay sharp, and have a weekend worthy of the man you’re becoming.
